Wish List Quirks: Amazon Playing Tricks on Me

One of my daily web visits is to Amazon as I’m sure millions of people do. However, my focus is on books and ones that I have previously placed in my wish list on Kindle for the day when it goes on sale. Kindle regularly reduces their book prices to $2.99 or lower. The problem can be that you don’t know which books and/or when it will go on sale.

My solution is to put any and every book that I have even a slight interest in one day reading into my wish list and then waiting for the day when it’s 70-90% cheaper. So probably 1-3 times a day, I’ll go to my Amazon Wish List, sort by Price: Low to High and see which books are at the top and reduced. If the book is reduced and I am even slightly reluctant to buy, I won’t and I will remove it altogether from my list. Simple enough and since none are reduced today, no books were bought (although it is crazy how cheap some books already are).

However, recently for some reason, I sorted the books Price: High to Low and noticed something interesting. When I scrolled to the bottom of the page to see the lowest priced books, almost like magic, a book was suddenly shown at a reduced price.

Naturally, I scooped up The Checklist Manifesto which had been on my list for quite some time (helped by several gift cards from work for being a healthy boy).
