Letter to My Daughter

My daughter will be four months old tomorrow. Below is a letter I wrote her when she turned three months old. I read it to her on that day and read it to her regularly. I plan to compile many letters to her in the coming years.

“Words can’t describe how much I love you. They never will. Writing “my daughter” fills me with happiness and delight. You have so many things to look forward to in life. Before you trek off and conquer the world like I know you will, I want you to know how loved you are. I can’t say it enough and want you to always be able to come back and read this. Despite my starting this letter with the indescribable nature of words, let this be an effort to come as close as possible. This week you will be 3 months old and it has been the greatest 3 months of my life. I can’t wait to discover who you are and who you become and I know the journey will be wonderful. I love you with all my heart.”
